Frequently Asked Questions:
How soon should I book my party?
We sail year-round and we do not hold a date without a deposit. In some cases, we book cruises two years in advance. In order to ensure your date, call right away!
Can we be married by the Captain?
Yes! We can provide “Captain to Marry” which means one of our handsome captains will perform the ceremony for your perfect nuptials. We can also provide the lucky couple a variety of vows to choose from and encourage them to add their own special touches with poems, songs, or a written passage.
Can I bring an outside vendor?
Yes! We are happy to work with outside vendors!
Can we cruise any time of the day?
Yes! Let us know what time frame works best for your event.
What is our cruise route?
The route taken depends on which port we depart from, cruise time, and conditions on the Bay. Typically we visit all the central bay land marks: from McCovey Cove under the Bay Bridge to the San Francisco Ferry Building, then cruising along the Embarcadero to view the sea lions at Pier 39, past Fisherman’s Wharf, out to the Golden Gate Bridge, around Alcatraz, and along Treasure Island.
How much does it cost?
We have 6 beautiful yachts to choose from, all of which can be rented by the hour or with food and beverage included. For full service events your guest count, choice of yacht, menu, and bar selections will determine your cost per person. Please contact one of our event planners to put together a package that will fit your budget.
How big are your yachts?
Our 6 Luxury Yachts range from 65 to 124 feet with multiple levels, accommodating 10 to 400 guests.
What happens if it rains?
Though we all love the great weather the Bay Area has to offer, if it does happens to rain the night of your event do not despair! Each of our venues has ample interior space to host the entire party inside the yacht.
Does Commodore have public cruises?
Yes! We do amazing Cruises on New Year’s Eve, July 4th, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day. You can stay updated on Facebook for additional opportunities, such as, the Day on the Bay with the Giants!

We have our “Meet the Fleet” buffet dinners twice a month. We do not cruise at these Open House events, but you can join the dockside party on the Cabernet Sauvignon!
Where do we board the yacht?

Do guests get sea sick?
Our yachts cruise the protected waters of San Francisco Bay, not the Pacific Ocean. We understand that guests want to enjoy the excitement and adventure of being on a boat without feeling like it, while enjoying a delicious meal or dancing the night away. You will find our yachts are big and stable and not at all like most ordinary boat experiences. If needed, our Captains will find the calmest water available to ensure that your cruise is serene and enjoyable.
How late can we stay out?
Our yachts can be chartered 24 hours a day. Please keep in mind that all normal Alcohol Beverage Control regulations apply on the water.
What is the dress code?
You are not on an ordinary boat, you are on a luxury yacht! Dressy or casual, you should look the part. A sweater or coat is always a good idea.
Are there any local hotels?
Our preferred vendor list provides you with several hotel options depending on which port you choose to cruise from.
Where are your offices located?
Our offices are located at Mariner Square in Alameda.
How many staff are onboard?
You might find that we have a Cruise Director, Deckhand, Servers, and Bartenders all at your service! Your guest count will determine how many staff members are onboard, and as service is our first order, you will be well taken care of.
Can we bring the kids?
Of course! We are very kid-friendly. Sometimes the kids are able to visit with the Captain when possible! Please note, although our staff is always aware of where our guests are onboard, we will not babysit your children and expect that your children are well behaved and watched-over by an adult.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are family too! In special circumstances, we do allow dogs to attend the wedding party. Naturally, all service dogs are welcome.
